Her great-grandfather John Martin Magenau Jr. was President and CEO at the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery in Erie Pennsylvania which had been established in 1847. It was shut down in 1978. Jacobs started acting classes at age 8 and continued attending sessions on Saturdays at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Mt. Jacobs went to Lebanon High School between 2000 and 2004. In 2004 she received her bachelor's degree.
